Speaker 1:

Oh Yeah.!Welcome to The Hope for You podcast. This is your host, Brother Gene. Brothers and sisters, each day the life of a Christian can be filled with excitement, purpose and fulfillment. This type of life is possible if you focus your thoughts on others instead of yourself. Philippians 2:3 says, Nothing should be done because of pride o r thinking about yourself. Think of other people as more important than yourself. As you encounter people each day, ask them about their life.

Speaker 2:

Are

Speaker 1:

They saved? Do they need a healing? Do they need prayer for their child? Sometimes it is obvious as they move around in a wheelchair or have a look of distress on their face. Often they're just going about their daily life walking way past the speed limit for a pedestrian.

Jesus

Speaker 1:

made a world changing statement to all believers when he said in John 14 verses 12 to 14. Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I'm going to the Father, and I will do whatever you ask in my name so that the father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it. What works did Jesus do on earth? He opened blind eyes and deaf ears, healed fevers, cured paralyzed people, raised the dead -a total of 37 miracles that the Bible records. Jesus did all of these and he told us we would do them too. However, there was something he didn't do or couldn't have done until after suffering and dying on the cross for our sins and being raised from the dead on the third day. That is the work of salvation. The greater works Jesus told us we would do is leading people to him to be saved. Romans 8 29 says, God knew from the beginning who would put their trust in him, so he chose them and made them to be like his son. Christ was first, and all those who belong to God are his brothers and sisters. You might be thinking, I'm not Jesus, or I don't act like Jesus or I'm afraid. Friend, consider others more important than yourself. You have been given the greatest gift, salvation. Second Corinthians five, verses 15 to 18. He died for everyone so that those who received this new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ who died and was raised for them. So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone. A new life has begun, and all of this is a gift from God who brought us back to himself through Christ, and God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. Child of God, the Lord is calling you to share this good news with others. You might be saying, I'm not ordained. I don't have a title. Verse 19, Second Corinthians 5, same chapter. For God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them, and he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ's ambassadors. God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, come back to God. For God made Christ who never sinned to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right with God through Christ. Brother, Sister, you are God's spokesperson, his ambassador. This is who you see in the mirror each morning. While he walked this earth, Jesus, the firstborn son of many brothers and sisters worldwide, was our example. He often referred to himself as the son of man rather than the son of God. Why? Son of God reflects his deity.Son of man reflects his humanity. Jesus talked to humans like you do. How's your day going? Have you caught any fish? What are you worried about? He was demonstrating how the Christian life should be lived. His work on the Earth was accomplished as a man empowered by the Holy Spirit. The miracles Jesus did were because he was anointed by the Holy Spirit. Acts 10: 38, And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. For God was with him. Did you catch that? God was with him. Meditate on that. The same Holy Spirit that rested on Jesus rests in and on you. You as Christ ambassador have been commissioned by God to go around leading people to the Lord and healing those oppressed by the devil. If you haven't already, start today. As you do this, your joy will increase. Each day will become a new adventure as you work to build the kingdom of God. The greatest days ever for the church are just ahead. Let's be about our father's business. Thank you for listening to the Hope for You podcast. This is Brother Gene saying: there is Hope For You.
